PETER ROSE

PRINCIPAL

With an education consisting of a Minor in Fine Arts (1983), Bachelor of Science In Architectural Studies (1984), and Bachelor of Architecture (1985), all from Washington State University, Peter has a great understanding and appreciation of design, art and innovation. Straight out of university, he was able to use his talents at top design firm Hopping Kovach Grinnell Design Consultants where he developed his ongoing interest in interior design. Following a 5-month grand tour of Europe, Peter went on to join one of Vancouver’s oldest architecture firms, Dirassar James Jorgenson. There, he spent 5 years honing his skills in a number of practice areas including residential, corporate, hospitality, and retail design. With the insight and experience he gained, combined with some initial private commissions for custom homes and interiors, he was inspired to set up his own architecture and interior design firm in 1992.

Born and bred on a cattle ranch in BC’s Nicola Valley, Peter developed an early interest in design during childhood trips to Europe, the USA, and of course to his father’s hometown of Vancouver. Peter’s rural upbringing, surrounded by vernacular buildings no doubt contributes to his love of a simple and honest expression of architectural forms and materials. Peter enjoys a lifelong passion for freehand drawing that informs his spatial ability. He translates this into excellent planning and visualization for his clients. One of Peter’s hallmarks is his ability to bring expertise and opinion to the process without dictating taste and aesthetics to the client. Peter believes it is important to never lose track of whose home is really being designed.
