David grew up in the picturesque northwest suburb of Beijing. His childhood embraced joyful experiences with mountains, water, forests, vast temples, royal gardens, and historic sites. They also enlightened his love of nature and culture.

After finishing his undergraduate education in Architecture and early-year practice in Beijing, David came to Canada in 2003 to complete his graduate studies. Holding Master degrees in both Architecture and Interior Design from the University of Manitoba, David has a strong academic background in broad architectural genre. Having a similar approach with Switzerland architect Peter Zumthor, David always try to uncover an inherent spirit of place and interpret constraints as catalysts for performative design.

“When I concentrate on a specific site or place for which I am going to design a building, I try to plumb its depths, its form, its history and its sensuous qualities” – Peter Zumthor

Besides work, David enjoys spending time with his family: golfing, canoeing, fishing, and skiing.
